About Mikell

I've loved to draw since I was little. In school I used to get in trouble because I "doodled" instead of taking notes. Later friends would ask me to draw them or teach them how to draw something.

I have to admit that my ability was passed down to me (Thanks, Dad!) and I have had no training, unless you count high school art classes - they did teach me some things. I've also taken some helpful advice from fellow artists that were willing to share.

I love to draw people. Faces are so much fun. I love to watch as that white piece of paper turns into a familiar face. Fantasy is fun too... I see someone that would be a perfect fairy and I can't wait to get started. I have done quite a few commissions and murals in the last few years and can't wait to do more.

Art Materials:

For Pencil drawings:
I use a #2 pencil and blenders and even catch myself using my fingers... old habits die hard.

For Colored Pencils:
I use Prismacolors and blenders.

For Murals:
I use acrylic craft paint, any brand that has the color I need.

Sometimes I get crazy and mix my media, it's fun!

I draw on:
Standard Card Stock and Crescent Illustration Board.
